About this Project

Near.co wanted to create a culture video to showcase their team and company. The goal was to capture the emotions and personalities of the people in the company, and to create a useful tool for recruitment and raising the company’s profile.

This needed to be a worldwide shoot in many countries. Priscilla and the team presented various concepts, ranging from script ideas in pure live action through to heavily styled illustration-footage blends. Out of those concepts, Near.co chose a music-based idea built around a hand-clapping soundtrack.

Scripting began.  The challenge here was to execute film shoots in many countries on a limited budget. The concept called for a loosely-written script so that the best footage could be chosen to work with the hand-clap sounds. Piehole’s director flew to Bangalore to film and It was decided to film in London and Sydney too. Near’s remaining country locations were demonstrated by the appropriate stock footage.

Budget Factors

Creating this video took a long time and was a significant investment, as it required separate filming in 3 international locations (London, Sydney, and Bangalore). In addition, stock footage was sourced to tell the story in more detail.
