What types of videos can I create here?
Video Brewery has hundreds of video creatives with a diverse range of styles, talents and production methods. For example, we can create an explainer video to explain how your product or service works, a viral video or web commercial to promote your brand, a corporate video to introduce your company, a tutorial or how-it-works video to educate your users, a customer testimonial video, or a mobile app walk-through. You can also choose the style of video production you want, like animation, live video, whiteboard, screencast, stop motion, direct-to-camera and more.
How much does a typical video cost?
It depends. The cost is primarily related to the length and complexity of the video. Videos start around $2,500 , but most run closer to $5,000 (we do not recommend posting a project with a budget lower than $1,000). For longer and more complex videos, the cost may be $10,000 or above. At Video Brewery, you set the budget and only move forward with the project if you find someone you want to work with.
Are there any additional fees?
Video Brewery charges a $10 listing fee (which is put towards your video if you decide to create one), and takes a small commission on each project which is included in the creative’s bid. The commission help us keep the lights on, pay for operating expenses and gateway fees, and the $10 listing fee limits our platform to serious clients only.
How long does it usually take to finish a project?
It depends on the length and complexity of the video, but most projects take between 4 and 8 weeks. When you post a project, each bid will include a target timeline.
Is my project private?
Yes! Once you post a project, the details are only visible to the members of our invite-only creative community. After you select a creative to work with, the entire project is private and all files and communications are only between you and your creative.
Who are the creatives?
The video creatives have been handpicked based on a careful review of their work and track record. We spend a lot of time scouring the web and networking to find the best of the best. We could just open the doors for everyone, but we think most of our clients would rather have a few high quality proposals than an overwhelming list of subpar ones. Most projects receive between 10 and 15 proposals, but the final amount often depends heavily on your budget.
What are the payment and contract terms?
When you accept a bid, you are required to pay 50% of the project total up-front. Payment can be made using credit card. The remaining 50% is due when you approve the final video. Once paid, the video is released for download. You can review the agreement here.
What steps are involved in creating a video?
Most videos follow a simple 6 step process, which includes the script, voiceover, style frame, storyboard, video, music & sound effects. The process is integrated in to your project management workflow as a checklist. You will have the opportunity to provide feedback at each stage of the process, along with your final approval.
Who owns the rights to the video?
Once you approve the video and pay the remaining amount, the video is yours. You own it and can do what you please with it. For those interested in all the legal mumbo jumbo, you can review the full agreement here.
How many revisions do I get?
You get 2 rounds of revisions at each stage of the process (see “What are the steps involved in creating a video”).
What happens if I cancel the project?
If at any point you decide to cancel a project before it is completed, any refund due will be based on the number of project steps approved when the cancellation request is received. For example, if only 1 step is approved, you will be refunded 66% of your downpayment. If 3 or more project steps are approved, you will not be due a refund. Your listing fee and Video Brewery fee is non-refundable. We do not offer refunds once a project is approved and the final payment has been submitted. For more detail on our refund and cancellation policy, please review our agreement.
